  This won't mean anything to you because for some odd reason I don't have a before picture of what hung above our dining room table.  It was a huge picture of roosters and along the side of that was a plate rack with four different kinds of rooster.  Too many roosters...  Bruce was growing weary of the sight of them.   So... one day last spring I found an old rickety window all flaky with white paint and that beautiful green blue color I'm crazy about peeking through.  I had visions of hanging it above the mantle in our living room but I brought it home and it was too big.  It sat in the garage for about a year.  One day I was having coffee with some friends at my favorite store in town and I saw an old window used in this fashion. {only they hung theirs on the ceiling}  Bless their hearts...  I thought of this wall and how small the dining room seems.  So I was telling Bruce all about it and he liked it too.  Therefore, we...

  The word on photo is my attemp to hide my electric plug in thingy... Why do I never notice these things while taking the picture?   Notice the wee gold bird.  I don't actually like live birds up close and personal as some of you well know.  But this little guy was the perfect candidate when I found him in the thrift store all orangey clay...

Here's the pictures that will not be seen.  I finally get time to blog and then my computer wants to update picasa and other stuff.  I think the updates gobbled up the pictures.  Anyhow, this is my very black kitchen with the copper counter tops.  I've found that black is like white.  It shows dirt.  So I have to clean and clean and clean.  I like it though.  I finally have a dishwasher running.  Still no faucet in my sink.  Lots done in the house.... Lots not done...  we are starting to feel like we are overcoming. Shaunti's reminder to me the other day during the thick of things. "Hey Mom, did you know the Lord is your Shepherd?"  Thank God for children.

My Entry way... How I shall miss thee... Thy calm, serene color... I took a bunch of pictures before I packed it all away.  It will be my comfort on a day I need more "pretty" My favorite color as well as favorite collection of things...  Oh you beautiful,  beautiful , green/blue thingys... I get to take my house plants with me.   All is going well with the moving.  I had two weeks of wonderful help.  While Jess was here, we did corn and lots of packing boxes.  While she did the laundry and dishes I was able to kiss my things goodbye as I packed them in boxes.  We are moving next Monday and Tuesday.  We actually can't move into our rental until Sat. the eighteenth so we are packing an enclosed trailer full.  Also, the new homeowner said we could use half the garage for a week while we wait.  We'll be staying at Mom and Dads house in-be-tween places.  That's all for now...  I'll keep you posted.  Har har....

      Back in January mom gave me the red rooster for my birthday. She found it at a thrift store so I didn't feel bad painting it black to match another rooster I got from Kristy on my birthday. I think I can safely say that I now have enough roosters and chickens in my kitchen.
