We had a fun filled evening last night with friends we seldom see these days. Matt and Amy are here for Christmas and Hans and Jo are here as well. Altogether we had 15 kids and ten adults. Things are a little different than the days when we had only one child each.
Amy helped with all the food and put the finishing touches on the party by adding wonderful starbucks coffee beans and Lindtt dark chocolate mints. I'll let Amy talk about the food... We made a bunch of appetizer foods and I really am not a very good food artist.....

Okay, so now I get to talk! (It's Amy) Shilah put on the most amazing wonderful party for us! Bruces are living in a really big house right now so she was able to really give a nice party without the feeling squished in a house like sardines. She used white and green and brought in the green from outside. The light was dimmed just right and the table was beautiful. I felt luxurious and spoiled. So anyhow, the food.... Shilah planned an appitizer meal. Crackers and cheese and meat plates, shrimp wantons, chicken empanadas, bbq wings, veggies, green apples with hot caramel dip, pizza rolls, shrimp rolls, and what else? Anyhow, it was fattening and good and fun.
I decided though in the middle of the meal that I can't wait to be sixty. I wonder if when I'm sixty I'll still feel this way....we were all so busy helping the kids and babies. But Its fun still getting with all the friends from long ago and we're all doing life the very best we know how. And we all have the same questions about child training, marriage, and all that good stuff. But by the end of the evening I was so encouraged. Nothing like a good chat with the girls! :) Thanks for the party Shilah! :)
Lovely post, Gals. Now that is such a GOOD idea. To have a nice "pretty table" party with friends. Hmmm, I'll have to think about that. I think I could farm the children out for my party.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to cheer Amy, for having her eyes closed...again! Me too! We're hopeless. Actually it's because we have such sensitive eyes, you know, like our hearts. :)
ReplyDeleteNice idea Arla but I fear it's my mind thats sensitive right now....:) Thanks for thinking good of me anyhow!
ReplyDeleteMe too. This looks like such a fun evening. I'm impressed with your creativity. Lovely!
